Saturday March 8 brings members of the Youth Orchestras of Essex County to the Maplewood Library to perform as part of the free “Art and Music” celebration. The 1 pm event will feature these young musicians playing both before and after an artist’s talk by Dorothy Engel.
The Faulkner sisters, Lisa, Maggie and Daphne, of Belleville and Hank Mecinski of South Orange will showcase their skills on violin in a series of selections.
The Youth Orchestras of Essex County are proud to be the longest-operating youth orchestra in New Jersey, formed in 1956. They are three orchestras and one ensemble of more than 80 musicians from a dozen towns, led by eight outstanding conductors and coaches, making beautiful classical music.
