The BBN Foundation:The Moment of Compassionate Truth

The BBN Foundation, founded by Dr. Anthony Orsini, hosted
its inaugural “The Moment of Compassionate Truth” gala on October 24th
at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange, New Jersey. Over 200 guests enjoyed
a night full of food, fun, and a silent auction with wonderful prizes to take
home such as weekend getaways and sports memorabilia donated by the NY Jets and
the NY Yankees. The night included a special presentation by Chase Chesney, a
motivational and inspirational speaker, and award being presented to the
Atlantic Health System by Dr. Orisini and Dr. Mary Ann LoFrumento recognizing
them as a “BBN Center of Excellence for Compassionate Communication in
Healthcare.”



 



With several guests in attendance, the gala aimed to provide
funding to create educational programs that promote compassionate communication
between healthcare professionals, patients and all of those involved. The BBN Foundation
hopes to educate physicians on how to successfully break bad news to patients
and families without making the news more devastating with how the
communication process is handled.
