Featuring Tenor Saxophonist Virginia Mayhew

Music in the Moonlight Jazz Series continues at Luna Stage with tenor saxophonist Virginia Mayhew on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. in a tribute to Mary Lou Williams – legendary American jazz pianist, composer and arranger.

The concert, sponsored by CityScience.org, features the music of Mary Lou Williams as well as Mayhew’s own compositions. Trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, guitarist Ed Cherry, bassist Harvie S and drummer Andy Watson accompany Mayhew. For his third consecutive year, jazz historian Sanford Josephson curates the event at the theatre.
