Thomas Edison Birthday Gala

The Grammy-winning Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks will entertain at Pleasantdale Château on Monday, February 11, 2013, for an event to honor the anniversary of the birth of Thomas Alva Edison.

Giordano is the leading American specialist in the jazz styles of the 1920s and 1930s. For most of his life, the hub of Edison's creative efforts and industrial advancements were based in West Orange, NJ. The Thomas Edison National Historical Park (TENHP) preserves these central sites of Edison's life and brilliance.

After all these years, these places and that legacy still have a lot to teach us about invention, innovation, and risk taking--lessons that we may need now more than ever.

But even beyond the importance of the Edison heritage to our society, the TENHP itself can and, with your support, will benefit the communities and region that surrounds it. The Friends intend to draw an increasing number of people who will come as tourists but will stay as customers of local businesses.

Festivities will begin with the cocktail hour at 6:30 PM with dinner following at 7:30 PM.

Guests can purchase tickets ($150 per person, $50 of which is tax deductable) at https://edisongala.eventbrite.com/.
