BOOKMAKING in the YEAR of the HORSE Class with LYNNE BUSCHMAN at Parcel Montclair

Inspired by the Chinese Year of the Horse, these star-shaped books
are both functional and sculptural. Our teacher,Lynne Buschmann, is a very talented artist, art & design professor (and long-time Montclair resident) who will teach you how
to construct your own celestial tome. You'll choose from a selection of
thick papers to bolster and stitch your book. Images and symbols can be
drawn, adhered, or stamped. We'll have many Asian influenced
embellishments and stamps available. The books will have twelve panels
(the book pictured has fourteen), which can be designed to incorporate
the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac, if you choose. You can also
devise your own motif or follow your inspiration as you work. Each panel
has a pocket that can be used to archive and collect special photographs, tiny collages, or other ephemera once at home. The destiny

of the book is up to you! The class will feature spring and summer rolls, hot tea, and wine.
