Upcoming Adult Events at West Orange Library

Come in from the cold and learn something new at one of these great Library programs for adults!

Come in from the cold and learn something new at the library this week!  On February 7, 2013 at 7pm, join SCORE counselor John Balzano for "Managing a Business in a Recessionary Environment."  As the economy very slowly recovers from the 2008 downturn, this seminar will provide guidelines for programs and procedures to improve sales and bottom line performance.  This is a must attend seminar for those currently in business.  On Saturday, February 9 at 9:30am, poets Peggy Vassallo and Frank Nicoletti will host a Poetry workshop.  Share your poems or start a new one.   Bring 10 copies of a work in progress to a casual roundtable critique.  You should also bring paper and pencil to get the beginning of your next poem on paper as they will get creative juices flowing with prompts and discussions.  Finally, don't miss the West Orange African Heritage Organization's "Day of Health and History" in honor of Black History Month on Saturday, February 9 from 1:30 to 4:30pm.  The program includes a tribute to a West Orange Civil War veteran, healthy eating tips from Shop Rite's Dietician, discussion of the book 'The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,' and a presentation by a heart transplant survivor.  We hope to see you there!
