Slate Restaurant/Lounge Coming to Main Street

Slate will open on Main Street, replacing Rock Cellar

A Japanese fusion restaurant will soon open its doors to the community. Slate restaurant and bar will open in the place of Rock Cellar on 437 Main Street.

The restaurant boasts a family-friendly fine dining experience and will transform into a trendy lounge at night.

The DJ booth will be prominently displayed and elevated in the middle of the bar.

While providing modern Japanese cuisine, the menu also includes international food and bar food such as burgers and french fries.

The owner told Patch the restaurant aims to provide high quality food with a fair price.

The full bar menu includes 20 different types of sake, more than 30 selections of wine, 16 draft beer items and a selection of 25 beers from Asia.

Eleven flat screen TVs line the walls where guests can watch sport events and games. 

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. for lunch, happy hour, dinner and lounge.

Slate is set to open sometime in February.

The restaurant is looking for bartenders, servers, chefs, and kitchen aids. Those interested in applying can email their resumes and a photo to slateofnj@gmail.com.
