School District Creates New Position, Hires Former Supervisor

West Orange School District's former ESL/World Languages Supervisor Ana Marti has been named Elementary School Assistant Principal.

West Orange School District's former ESL/World Languages Supervisor has been named to the newly created position of Elementary School Assistant Principal.

Ana Marti has principal certification, a Masters in Education from St. Peter’s College, and has successfully completed the NJ EXCEL Program.

“Ana Marti is an outstanding professional," said Interim Superintendent James O’Neill. "She has done a wonderful job as the Supervisor of World Languages and ESL departments.  She has helped West Orange continue to implement one of the finest Chinese programs in New Jersey."

O'Neill added, “Gregory and Redwood Elementary Schools have nearly 600 students each. The increasing amount of administrative work, including a dramatic increase in the number of observations we have to conduct on teaching staff, made it imperative to have another administrator at the elementary level.”

Ms. Marti will divide her time between the two largest elementary schools and will continue to conduct her ESL supervisory responsibilities.  Ms. Marti will also be available to help other elementary principals on an “as needed” basis.

“This is a great opportunity to continue serving the West Orange School District, and I look forward to all the challenges ahead,” said Marti.
