Get Ready for School with 8 to 8 Barber Shop

8 to 8 Barber Shop will host its first ever '8 to 8 Day' Wednesday.

Wednesday morning will kick off 8 to 8 Barber Shop's first '8 to 8 Day' featuring eating contests, raffles and back-to-school drive. 

According to the West Orange Downtown Business Alliance, '8 to 8 Day' is an celebratory day that creates an opportunity for 8 to 8 Barber Shop to be (re) introduced to the community while living out it’s mission to be a hub of the community.

During this time, it wants to highlight local students, help get them prepared and excited for the upcoming school year.

The schedule is as follows:

At 8 a.m. Back to school supplies can be dropped off inside 8 to 8 Barber Shop at 2 Northfield Ave. Monday and Thursday-Saturday between 8amand 8pm through 9/11/2013. Supplies will benefit local students and determined by each receiving school. Donations items may include: notebooks, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, paper filler, and binders.

At 12 p.m. Supreme Bakery, Johnny’s Pizzeria, and Subway have sponsored the 2nd annual food-eating competition with food and drinks. Students will compete for the champion title and free haircuts. Additional neighboring downtown businesses are coming out to cheer on the student-athletes and donating gift certificates, retail items, and specials for a free raffle drawing in the plaza following the eating contests.

At 8 p.m. 8 to 8 Barber Shop will randomly select and announce prize winners for their “LikeUs” Contest. Prizes will include free products, haircuts,shape-ups, shaves, and unlimited haircut memberships. For a chance to win, anyone simply “Like” the 8 to 8 Barber Shop Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/8to8barbershop) by 8:00pm on 8/28/13. For increased chances to win, invite a friend to also “Like” the page. More “Likes” means more raffle drawings!
