Frankie Faison and James McDaniel in Celebrity Reading at Luna Stage

The famous actors will be at Luna Stage on Friday for a benefit reading.

Frankie Faison, from HBO’s “The Wire,” and Emmy Award winner James McDaniel, from ABC's "NYPD Blue,” to appear in a one-night only benefit reading of American Buffalo by David Mamet on Jan. 10 at 8 p.m.at Luna Stage.

Directed by Jane Mandel, the theatre’s founder and former artistic director of twenty years, American Buffalo won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best American Play.

The presentation focuses on three small-time crooks who plot to rob a man of his coin collection – possessing a valuable "Buffalo nickel.” Set in a Chicago junk shop, the piece follows these self-proclaimed businessmen caught up in their own game of last-chance, empty pipe dreams.

Both acclaimed actors of stage and screen, Faison, slated to return for his second season in Cinemax's “Banshee,” steps onLuna’s stage to read the play with McDaniel, seen in hit Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black.”
