What's Happening in West Orange Synagogues?

This week's focus returns to Congregation Ahawas Achim B'na Jacob & David.

As the weather begins to cool down, we are feverishly preparing for the High Holidays. Our summer was extremely busy and our members enjoyed all of our exciting and educational programs here at Congregation Ahawas Achim B’nai Jacob & David (AABJ&D).

We had the privilege of welcoming our new and enthusiastic Youth Directors, Daniella & Dovi Shenkman, to our Shul. Dovi is originally from Teaneck, NJ. Dovi graduated from Yeshiva University and is currently enrolled in Semicha at the school. Daniella is from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She is a graduate of Stern College for Women and has a master’s degree from Fordham University in Early Childhood Special Education. They are working very hard to prepare new and exciting programs for our youth and we are looking forward to a fabulous year.

As our camping season came to an end, our teachers were in preparing and working hard to get the school ready for our new group of nursery schoolers. We are now in the midst of our first full week of school. As you walk through the halls of our Shul you hear the children learning, playing, laughing and singing. The children are all working very hard with their teachers to prepare and learn everything they need to know for the holidays. We are all looking forward to a great, educational and successful year for the children!
