BOE Meeting, The Music Man in The Week Ahead

Here are a few events that are happening this week in West Orange.

The West Orange Board of Education will meet on Monday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. at the Redwood Elementary School, 75 Redwood Ave. The board will then meet next week on Monday, Nov. 26 at the Thomas A. Edison Central Six Middle School, located at 75 William St.

On Tuesday, Nov. 20, the West Orange Energy Commission meets in conference room 109, 66 Main St. beginning at 7 p.m.

Audio Long After Edison: A Legacy Of Music And Film Audio And The State Of Today's Technologies

The Friends of Thomas Edison National Historical Park invites you to an overview and discussion of Edison's pivotal audio technologies and how they have shaped our culture and evolved into today's digital age. Larry Fast--a synthesizer expert, composer, performer, and producer--will guide you into the modern audio world through audio examples and visual images.

West Orange Resident Directs "The Music Man"

West Orange Resident and Director Camille DiLorenzo is teaming up with Music Director Ilene Greenbaumin Livingston Community Player's 10th anniversary production of "The Music Man", by Meredith Wilson. Performances at Mt Pleasant Middle School (11 Broadlawn Dr., Livingston) are Saturday Nov. 17 @ 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 18 @ 2 p.m. 

Immigration Seminar/Conferencia de Inmigracion

There will be an information meeting about Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and how to become a resident through family petition (marriage petition, etc.) This class is bi-lingual and all are welcome.

Yakety-Yak Book Discussion Group

This book discussion group is for 2nd and 3rd graders.

New Mom and Baby Group
Wednesday, 10:30 a.m.
JCC MetroWest
760 Northfield Ave. - $96/nine sessions
A new group for New Mothers and Babies aged birth to 8 months is open for registration. The group will explore topics such as establishing eating and sleeping patterns, crying, temperament and attachment. It will be facilitated by Tricia Stern, Jewish Family Service of MetroWest Coordinator of Child and Adolescent Services. Stern specializes in working with infants, toddlers and preschoolers and their families using the Child-Parent Psychotherapy model.
