West Orange Historic Group Celebrates New Exhibit

Permanent library exhibit highlights new historic properties in the township.

The West Orange Historic Preservation Commission opening reception on April 10 celebrated a new permanent exhibit at the West Orange Public Library.

The exhibit features the township's 10 locally designated historic sites.

Pictured are Councilmembers Susan McCartney and Joe Krakoviak, exhibit photographer and designer Heidi Sussman of the West Orange Arts Council, Commission Chair Brian Feeney and Mayor Rob Parisi.

Commissioner Carol Selman, who coordinated the exhibit and opening, is not shown in the photo.

Feeney and Selman spoke of the role and importance of historic preservation to those in attendance.

Commissioners Gerry Gurland and Phyllis Ficarotta, current and past WOAC Chairs Bill Cofone and Lisa Suss and Jeannie Smillie also attended. 

Smillie's childhood home is among the designated properties.
