VIDEO: West Orange Goes Green in St. Patrick's Day Parade

More than 100 organizations and bands participate in 61st annual parade

A wave of green swept West Orange Sunday afternoon for the 61st Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Attendees lined Main Street from town hall to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, cheering on the more than 100 organizations and 25 bands that participated.

This year's grand marshal was West Orange resident Greg Dillon. He told Patch the parade dates back to when a group would take a bus to Newark to march in the parade. "Then a group of men decided why go all the way down there when we can have our own parade and they've been marching ever since then," Dillon said.

Groups from all over the state and as far as Boston and Ireland participated in the roughly two-hour parade.
