West Orange's Christmas Tree To Be Lit Friday

Due to inclement weather, the tree lighting was postponed to Dec. 14.

West Orange's Christmas Tree lighting, scheduled to have happened on Dec. 7, will be happening today, Dec. 14, according to Jessica Glicker, Director of Communications for West Orange.

The lighting was postponed due to inclement weather.  

The township will highlight its holiday festivities on Friday at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Town Hall. Sponsored by the West Orange Recreation Department, the jolly event begins at 4:30 p.m.

The tree will be lit at 5:40 p.m., immediately followed by the appearance of the jolly old elf himself who will be available for photos in his workshop.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be doled out compliments of Pal's Cabin and Shoprite. The event also includes a Kwanzaa Booth, musical performances and season's greetings from Mayor Robert D. Parisi. A holiday petting zoo will remain open until 6:30 p.m.
