Shul Spiel: What's Happening at Local West Orange Synagogues

This week's focus returns to the Lubavitch Center of Essex County.

In this week’s Torah portion, Shelach, it discusses how Moses sent 12 spies to the land of Canaan. If Moses were to send out spies to report what’s been going on here at the Lubavitch Center Shul, there would be only good news to report!

Our Annual Dinner honoring Robert and Rochelle Rush, Chaia Sagorsky, and Menucha Libson, and celebrating the life of Dr. Richard B. Kaplan, was a huge success.  Everybody enjoyed the delicious food and the music by Bnai Jazz. In his show, featured mentalist Maurice Sabloff, enthralled the crowd’s mind. It was a great evening!

This past Monday evening we held the fifth Lesson of Jewish Learning Institute course entitled The Art of Marriage. We discussed how one can defend a marriage from the threats of boredom from within and temptation from without as well as how to form and fortify an exclusive and powerful relationship.

Tuesday night was also the last Yeshiva Night for the spring semester. Students from the Rabbinical College of America taught many fascinating topics. Be sure to join us next session!
