Free Vehicle Safety Inspections in West Orange on Wednesday

To help you keep your vehicle in tip-top shape, the AAA New Jersey Automobile Club is offering free vehicle safety checks at its West Orange branch office (Essex Green Shopping Plaza, 495 Prospect Ave.) on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 12-3 p.m.

The inspections will include checks of the tires, fluid levels, windshield wipers, batteries, lights and belts and hoses.

We should keep in mind that although AAA is showing us it's "nice side" by offering these free inspections, but we should remember they have a very powerful lobby in Washington. AAA presented a study showing cell phone use while driving is not a major factor in auto accidents. A quick Google search shows that AAA lobbied against airbags, do not support bike lanes, are pro-asphalt road construction, and are not for gas taxes. (Which help curb the use of fuel and automobile use.) They are definitely not a "green organization", nor have the public's best interests in mind when it comes to dollar and cents... :[
