Mothers & Veterans Healthcare: Call for Participants

My name is Wendy Christensen, and I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology at William Paterson University. I am doing a study about the experiences of mothers who have children serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Specifically, I would like to speak with mothers who have helped take care of a service member who was wounded in the war. I am interested in understanding how mothers navigate the veteran's healthcare system, and balance the time they spend caring for a wounded veteran.I am currently looking for mothers of wounded warriors (any military branch) in the Northern New Jersey area who are interested in volunteering to participate. If you are interested in being interviewed, the interview will take place at a location and time of your convenience. Interviews will last about an hour. This Project has been approved by William Paterson University's Institutional Review Board (#2013-352) which protects the human subjects of research. I will provide confidentiality to all volunteers, and participants will be referred to by a pseudonym in all research documents. If you have any questions regarding this study, you can contact me at christensenw@wpunj.edu. For more information on me, you can access my university website here: http://www.wpunj.edu/cohss/departments/sociology/faculty/wendy-christensen.dot
