BOE - Taxes Up Again

Income and housing prices are fairly stable for most of West Orange but the school taxes are expected to go up.  On Tuesday, March 18, 2014 the initial school budget number is being voted on.  A $146 million plus number with $125 million plus from the current year tax bill plus borowing.  Significantly more than last year. Inflation is low and student enrolment is growing but slowly.  
West Orange is one of the highest taxed town in the highest tax state in the nation.  
We have about 7,000 students and well over 1,000 shool employees.  The spenidng is about $21,000 per student.  This above state and national norms by a wide margin.  The town and school has money for artificial turf, a fog machine for football players, the highest paid school board adminstrator in the state at about $200,000 plus benifits and an assistand superintent who makes about $200,000 plus benifits.   
The tet resutls and graduation rate I will call on agrigate fair to midland with some brite spots but many short comming.
The problems with West Orange Shcools are not the lack of money on agrigate.  It is how it is spent or spent unwisely.
To clarify a classroom with 20 has a revenue stream from tax payers of over $400,000 to run it.  If you can run a classroom well with that amount of money backing it and run it right the issue is not a funding issue.
I am going Tuesday to speak to the board and explain that this is wrong.
Our high taxes are pushing grandparents and senior out.  It is harming property values.  My theory is I work to suport my family and the board of educaiton should work to suport quality educaiton in the comunity.  The five elected board member must think that the thoery is that I should go to work every day to suport mediocarity in education.  Please show up on Tuesday and explain just how wrong this is.
