Praying with Lior asks whether someone with Down syndrome can be a spiritual genius. Many believe Lior is close to God -- at least that's what his family and community believe -- though he's also a burden, a best friend, an inspiration and an embarrassment, depending on who is asked and when. As this documentary moves to its climax, Lior must pass through the gateway to manhood - his Bar Mitzvah
Prior to the film, Lisa Tobin will speak about Round Lake Camp (an NJ Y Camp), the special services provided there, and the plans for more inclusion opportunities at camp, beginning this summer.
This program marks Jewish Disability Awareness Month and is brought to you by B’nai Shalom’s Sisterhood and the Inclusion Committee.
Light refreshments will be served.

More About B'nai Shalom
B'nai Shalom is an egalitarian and traditional synagogue led by Rabbi Robert L. Tobin. The synagogue is informal and welcoming. It offers many different services, including some specifically for children, such as Shabbat Fun for ages 3 - 5 and Mini Minyan for ages 8 - 11. It also boasts active Adult Education, Sisterhood and USY teen programming. The religious school is a "Schechter School of Excellence," and their Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation is highly skilled and personal.
