  an overview and discussion of Edison's pivotal audio technologies and h
 ow they have shaped our culture and evolved into today's digital age.&nb
 sp\; Larry Fast--a synthesizer expert\, composer\, performer\, and produ
 cer--will guide you into the modern audio world through audio examples a
 nd visual images.\nUnder the heading "Audio Long After Edison: A Legacy 
 Of Music And Film Audio And The State Of Today's Technologies\," Fast wi
 ll show how Edison's first steps refashioned the arts over the last cent
 ury and more\, and the way new audio technologies have transformed those
  early techniques.\nThe event\, &nbsp\;a must for audio enthusiasts and 
 part of the 125th anniversary commemoration of Edison's labs in West Ora
 nge\, &nbsp\;will occur at the West Orange Public Library on Sunday\, No
 vember 18\, 2012 at 2:00 PM. (Space is limited. You must reserve your pl

 hments will be served.\nLarry Fast is best known for his series of pione
 ering electronic music albums recorded under the project name SYNERGY. H
 e is also known for his work with Peter Gabriel for whom he has played s
 ynthesizer on record and on tour. Larry was on the production team for m
 any of Peter's albums for nearly a decade.\nLarry Fast's production cred
 its show the influence that his control of music technology has had on o
 ther artist's styles. All through the 1980's and into the 1990's Larry h
 as worked with a multitude of world-class artists and producers\, and as
  a producer himself.\nArtists as diverse as Hall &amp\; Oates\, Foreigne
 r\, Bonnie Tyler\, Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora and David Bryan\, Barbra St
 reisand\, Renaissance's Annie Haslam\, Randy Newman\, Joan Armatrading\,
  Meat Loaf and many others have called on Larry's talents.\nMore recentl
 y Larry has recorded and toured with former Peter Gabriel bandmates Tony
  Levin and Jerry Marotta as the Grammy&reg\;-nominated Tony Levin Band (
 EMI Narada Records). Larry has also appeared onstage as a member of Wend
 y Carlos' Switched On Bach Ensemble. He has recently created sound logos
  and "sonic imaging" for the entire XM Satellite Radio network\, and hou
 rs of new compositions for the Walt Disney Company heard at the Tokyo Di
 sneySea park. Keyboard Magazine awarded Larry its annual Best Synthesist
  award In recognition of his work.\nWith a degree in history and an elec
 tronics background that has earned him patents in optical audio communic
 ation\, Larry currently serves as the chairman of the Morris County Heri
 tage Commission\, is the former chair of the Morris County Historic Pres
 ervation Trust Fund and is a consultant to the Bob Moog Foundation.&nbsp
 \; His area of expertise is technology history.\nLarry Fast will appear 
 under the sponsorship of The Friends of Thomas Edison National Historica
 l Park\, a not-for profit organization dedicated to supporting the Thoma
 s Edison NHP in the preservation\, restoration and promotion of Thomas A
 . Edison&rsquo\;s laboratory and home through advocacy\, volunteer servi
 ce and fundraising. The Friends also strive to foster an appreciation of
  Thomas A. Edison and his achievements by assisting in the planning of s
 pecial events and providing programs that satisfy the needs and interest
 s of its members and the local community.\nThomas Edison National Histor
 ical Park is a National Park Service site dedicated to promoting an inte
 rnational understanding and appreciation of the life and extraordinary a
 chievements of Thomas Alva Edison by preserving\, protecting\, and inter
 preting the Park's extensive historic artifact and archive collections a
 t the Edison Laboratory Complex and Glenmont\, the Edison family estate.
