It's a common saying that you should look good and you'll feel good. Everyone has those mornings when they just roll out of bed and sleep walk to start their day. But most of the time we spend a little while in the morning preparing ourselves for the day to come.
A key part of morning grooming is being able to see yourself while you're getting ready. Sure, I grab clothes out of the closet without looking at them once in a while (yesterday my girlfriend yelled at me because when I met her for lunch I was wearing plaid shorts and a striped shirt, I didn't even realize it!). If I would take the time to look at myself in the mirror once in a while before grabbing my keys and running out the door, maybe I wouldn't embarrass anyone when I'm out in public that day.
The IES's Light Logic project has put together a guide for helping you light your bathroom and vanity for the most optimal morning preparation station. In their guide, they list several key factors in lighting your vanity, including:
- Adding Side Illumination
- Light Overhead
- Match CRI (color rendering index)
Check out their bathroom lighting guide to learn about how you can set up your early morning routine in one of your most critical spaces in your home for efficient grooming.
