Children Read To Therapy Dog at WOPL

Want to know a way for your child to build confidence while reading aloud?

Sometimes all you need is a dog.

On Monday, at the West Orange Public Library’s Eager Readers program, the readers were paid a visit by Millie, a therapy dog who is trained to sit back, relax, and listen to a good story while children build confidence and have fun reading through their favorite books.

Millie will be visiting the library monthly and, at each visit, there will be six 10-minute sessions during which a child can read. Her next visit is scheduled during the Feb 1 meeting of the Eager Readers, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. To sign your child up for a spot, stop into the children’s room at the library or call 973-736-0198, ext. 16.
