West Orange Woman Injured in Chatham Bus Crash
The injured woman, from West Orange, struck the bus from behind in her car, police said.
A West Orange woman suffered a minor head injury after her car struck a school bus carrying 11 students Friday morning, according to Kevin O'Shea of the Chatham Borough Police Department.
None of the students were injured, O'Shea said.
The bus was operated by the Livingston Board of Education and was going to the ECLC on Lum Avenue with 11 students and one aide, according to O'Shea.
Patroman Wayne Shivers investigated the accident shortly before 9 a.m. Friday at the intersection of North Passaic Avenue and Main Street, O'Shea said.
The school bus, driven by Angelo Lekkas, 70, of West Orange, was stopped at a red light when it was struck from behind by a 1992 Toyota, O'Shea said.
The second car was driven by Jacksmine Jean, also of West Orange, O'Shea said.
Jean was also issued a summons for careless driving, according to O'Shea.
