West Orange Man Struck By Bus in Critical But Stable Condition

The Northfield Avenue crash remains under investigation.

West Orange police are continuing to investigate an accident involving a pedestrian and a NJ Transit Bus early Wednesday morning.

According to the Alternative Press, a 36-year-old male West Orange resident was struck by a bus as a he crossed Northfield Avenue by Ridgeway sometime after 6 a.m.

Reached by telephone Thursday afternoon, Katherine Carter, a spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, said the unidentified victim was in critical but stable condition at UMDNJ in Newark.

Currently, the prosecutor's office is working in conjunction with West Orange police on the investigation into the cause of the accident, though no arrests have been made and no citations issued as of yet.

An officer with the West Orange Police Traffic Division said they're investigating the incident but have no further details.
