West Orange Gets Several Nods for Best Recreations, Attractions
NJ Monthly releases 2012 'Best of New Jersey'
New Jersey Monthly announced this week the results of their 2012 "The Best of Jersey" reader's choice poll.
West Orange shined as one of the places to go for the best recreations and attractions.
Essex County's Turtle Back Zoo clinched the win for the best zoo/aquarium in the state.
The Thomas Edison National Historic Park was a runner-up in the best historic site category with Allaire State Park taking the top spot.
The Codey Arena, part of the South Mountain Recreation Complex that houses the zoo, also received a runner-up position for best ice rink in New Jersey.
According to the magazine's website, more than 8,000 eligible votes were tabulated in this year's poll.

Thanks to Joe D!! His hard work and relentless pursuit of improving Essex County is paying off. Now if the local political machine would only take a lesson or two from him on how to make life better for your constituents we might actually get somewhere.
