WHAT: Free Rabies Vaccination Clinics For Dogs and Cats
WHERE: Department of Public Works, 25 Lakeside Ave, WO
WHEN: Saturday 10 a.m. to Noon
WHY GO: Dogs and Cats must have their rabies vaccination updated if it expires prior to Nov. 1, 2012 in order to secure the required pet license.

WHAT: Animal Adoption Day at West Orange Animal Welfare League
WHERE: Alex Caprio Animal Control Facility, 311 Watchung Ave
WHEN: Saturday 11 a.m.  to 3 p.m.
WHY GO:  Come see our wonderful pets at our open house adoption day this Saturday from 11am-3pm. Stop by and take a look - you might just fall in love!

WHAT: West Orange 7th Annual Classic Film Festival  -  “The Wild Bunch"
WHERE: AMC Essex Green Cinema
WHEN: Sunday 2 p.m.
WHY GO: The popular, “West Orange Classic Film Series,” returns for its seventh season on Sunday, Jan. 8, with director Sam Peckinpah’s powerful western, “The Wild Bunch,” first released in 1969.   An aging group of outlaws look for one last big score as the "traditional" American West is disappearing around them.  
COST:  $10

WHAT: All God’s Children program - Church for Families with Children with Special Needs
WHERE: St. John's Episcopal Church, 55 Montclair Ave
WHEN: Sunday 9 a.m.
WHY GO All God’s Children is a non-denominational Christian service designed to appeal to families with children of any age, and especially appropriate for children with Autism, PDD-NOS, ADHD, ADD, Down’s Syndrome or any other developmental or physical challenge. In this service, there is no need to be still or quiet: The 30 minute service is a lively combination of music, prayer, Bible stories, movement and communion. This service is not only for children with special needs, but a way to bring together so that they can learn together, and from each other, in an atmosphere of understanding and acceptance.

WHAT:  Blood Drive - Congregation AABJD
WHERE:  Congregation Ahawas Achim B'nai Jacob & David,  700 Pleasant Valley Way
WHEN: Sunday  9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHY GO:  YES it is safe to donate blood! Generally, people in good health are eligible to donate. Blood donors must be 16 years of age or older. Help save a life!

WHAT: Harry's Magical Invention Bag
WHERE: Thomas Edison National Historical Park
WHEN: Sunday 1 p.m.
WHY GO: Park volunteer, Harry Roman is a retired engineer as well as inventor and patent holder. He will offer a presentation about contemporary inventors from New Jersey and the patent process.
COST: Entrance Fee- $7, Valid for seven days. Under 16 years old free.  Includes: Laboratory Complex and Glenmont. Cash or Check only.

WHAT: RAPUNZEL Auditions at JCC
WHERE: JCC MetroWest
WHEN: Sunday   Grades K-1: 1 p.m.    Grades 2-6: 2:30 p.m.
WHY GO: Prepare an up-tempo song (Happy Birthday is fine!) and be prepared to dance. Audition either date or time listed for your age group and be prepared to stay about an hour. There is a participation fee to be in the show.
Mini-Stars (grades K-1) Sun, Jan. 8 1 p.m. - 2 p.m., Mon, Jan. 9 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Rehearsals will be one day a week from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Kid-Stars (grades 2-6) Sun, Jan. 8 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Mon, Jan. 9 5 p.m. -7 p.m.
Rehearsals will be on Sundays from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. and one night during the week depending on role.
