- The West Orange Board of Education will meet Monday night at Roosevelt Middle School. Public session begins at 8 p.m.
- West Orange High School's Poetry Out Loud Finals will take place Wednesday at 7 p.m. Residents are invited to listen to 12 students recite poetry and compete for the chance to represent West Orange in the regional competition. Competitors must memorize two different poems: one from pre-20th century and one 25 lines or fewer. The finals will be held at the high school auditorium.
- The West Orange Human Relations Commission will sponsor a program in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Saturday. The event will feature guest speaker Dorian Wilson, who first dreamed of becoming a doctor at the age of five and now, at age 44, is one of the few African-American liver transplant surgeons in the U.S. The celebration will take place at 11 a.m. at Saint Joseph's Church, located at 44 Benvenue Ave.
- Mayor Robert Parisi will be hosting office hours Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at township hall.
- Golda Och Academy and Jewish Family Service of MetroWest is sponsoring a free program, Balancing Fear and Freedom in Raising Kids - tips for parents on speaking to children about safety issues on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Golda Och Academy, 122 Gregory Ave.
