There's a new hot spot in town and its doors are officially open.

Slate Restaurant and Bar will open at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday for bar services only. The full restaurant will open Monday.

The Japanese-fusion venue is located on 436 Main Street and will replace the old Rock Cellar restaurant.

Inside, Slate boasts a clean and modern look with 11 flat screen TVs along the walls.

While providing modern Japanese cuisine, the menu also includes international food and bar food such as burgers and french fries.

The full bar menu includes 20 different types of sake, more than 30 selections of wine, 16 draft beer items and a selection of 25 beers from Asia.

Slate will be open for bar only services starting at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The restaurant will open Sunday for the St. Patrick's day parade and open for lunch Monday at 11 a.m.
