Shooting on Orange/West Orange Border Leaves Three Injured
Incident remains under investigation by Orange Police Department
Three men were injured in a shooting on Elizabeth Street between North Day Street and Cleveland Street along the Orange/West Orange border, authorities said.
The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday and remains under investigation.
Linda Cofer, spokeswoman for the city of Orange, did not identify the three men but said they sustained non life threatening injuries and were being treated at University Hospital.
When questioned, Cofer said the three men had conflicting stories and were uncooperative with authorities. They all have prior reported incidents with the Orange police department, she added.
Police also recovered several shell casings in the area and arrested a 17 year old for aggravated assault. The teen was allegedly resisting arrest and caused minor injuries to an Orange officer. It is not known whether the teen was involved in the shooting, Cofer said.
It is unknown what sparked the incident.

Be very careful out there men and women in blue. You know I believe you deserve the best from our leaders and the citizens you so bravely serve! I would like to see you all in two man cars for safety and effectiveness. Be well, serve well!! I promise to be praying.
