Police: Incident under investigation; no suspects

An early morning shooting Friday in West Orange's Valley District has left one man injured after he was shot in the face, according to West Orange police.

Police said they received a call at 1:25 a.m. of reports of gunfire on Tompkins Street. When police arrived, they followed a blood trail to the back of the Valley Settlement House, where they found Charles Bracy, 21, of Orange.

Bracy was transported to University Hospital in Newark for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Jessica Glicker, West Orange's public information officer.

Police said they have no witnesses and no suspects, but said the incident is under investigation.

The Valley Settlement House is a "non-profit social service agency servicing West Orange, Orange, South Orange, and East Orange ... Newark, Maplewood and Irvington," according to its website.
