After a week of voting, Patch readers have recommended their favorite accountants and tax preparers - something good to know with the April 15 tax deadline a little more than a week away.

Here are your recommendations:

•  Lynch & Murray is located at 32 Bay Avenue.  Their phone number is 973-743-2578.  The company offers income tax and accounting, services, as well as bookkeeping, consultation and IRS & state representation for small businesses.
• H & R Block, located at 299 Glenwood Ave, offers the option of in-home, online tax prep or office consultations with the assistance of a professional tax preparer.  For more information call 973-743-0898
•  In Montclair, Thomas Conk, CPA garnered the most votes, followed by Andrew A. Mitchell, Robert A. Chiappone and Dennis Haase. Thomas Conk, CPA is located at 36 Warren Place, Montclair (973) 744-3307
• In the Caldwells, West Caldwell, Alfonse Giordano, CPA was the clear winner, with 52% of the vote.  Giordano has offices at two locations:1140 Bloomfield Ave, West Caldwell, Suite 218 (973) 575-1644. 5 Glenwood Way, West Caldwell (973) 228-3927. West Caldwell Patch readers commented that “Big Al” was “the best” and “an honest and great guy.”
• Belleville and Nutley Patch readers use H & R Block on Franklin Avenue in Nutley and CAM Financial and Tax Services in Belleville.
• H & R Block is located at 233 Franklin Ave. in Nutley. Clients can schedule an appointment online and are also offered several options for doing their taxes remotely or in person.

• Patch readers from Maplewood, Millburn and West Orange voted for Couto DeFranco of West Orange. Couto Defranco is a firm of certified public accountants and advisors. The firm handles accounts and taxes, estates and trusts and wealth management. It also provides consultation. They are located at 300 Executive Drive in West Orange. The firm is managed by partners Nelson Couto and Anthony DeFranco.
• Also highly ranked was Theodore Angowski, whose office is at 327 Valley Road in West Orange.
• In South Orange, readers recommended John W. Odell, CPA. Odell is a certified public accountant, who provides tax advisory service from his office on 1st Street.
