Police Blotter: Garage Burglarized, Armed Robbery, School Trespassing

Armed Robbery: Three black males stole the tip jar from Main Moon Restaurant on Main Street in West Orange, police said.
According to the police report, the young men, believed to be in their 20s, entered the restaurant at 9:10 p.m. on Sept. 18 brandishing a handgun. One of the men, turning to an employee, said, "Open the register." The employee said, "No, why?" The men then took the tip jar that contained $10 and fled.
A delivery man at the restaurant saw the three individuals flee and followed them in his car but lost track of them as they fled on Lakeside Avenue, officials said.
Police found a baseball cap near the area, that the restaurants' owners said belonged to one of the alleged thieves.
Burglary to Garage: Police said a garage on Elm Street was burglarized after the alleged thieve(s) smashed the garage window and took several landscaping items.
The owner of the standalone garage told police the incident happened on the night of Sept. 18. According to the police report, a blower, a weed wacker and a chainsaw were stolen.
Police believe the individuals never entered the garage but reached through the broken window for the items. Officials said no evidence was left at the scene after the owner boarded up the window and cleaned up the broken glass.
Two Men Arrested: Authorities arrested two men in front of Edison Middle School after they were found sitting on the bleachers of the soccer field after hours.
Esteban Enrique Hernandez, 19, and Sivaji Samir Hall, 19, both of West Orange, were charged with defiant trespassing. Hernandez was also charged with possession of marijuana.
The men were found with four juveniles who were taken into custody for criminal trespassing on school property, officials said.
One of the teenagers was was charged with criminal trespassing and possession of a weapon on school grounds. A folding box cutter was also found on his front belt. He was remanded to the Essex County Youth House. The three other teens were returned home.
