Police Blotter: Drug Arrests, Assault Outside 4Sixty6, Shoplifting at CVS
The following arrest information was supplied by the West Orange Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
- A woman told police she was assaulted by an ex-coworker early Monday morning while leaving Club 4Sixty6 in West Orange. The alleged victim said she was walking to the parking lot when her ex-coworker said a few words to her and struck her multiple times on her face with a closed fist. The victim told police she tried defending herself and was able to strike back until her attacker began pulling her hair. According to the police report, the woman who began the altercation faces simple assault charges. Police said she fled the scene in her car. The victim refused medical attention on scene.
- A man was arrested outside Pal's Cabin after police found him asleep at the wheel with his car in gear stopped a quarter of the way into a parking spot. Police found Adam Lawrence Coppola passed out behind the wheel of a 1998 Chevy Blazer. According to the police report, wax folds, a syringe, a spoon and heroin were found inside the car. He was taken into custody last Thursday night and charged with drug possesion, possession of paraphernalia and two motor vehicle summons.
- An East Orange woman was arrested by an off-duty police officer after she was allegedly caught shoplifting in the CVS store on Eagle Rock Avenue in West Orange. The CVS store manager said she saw Tracey Bailey, 47, stuffing various beauty products into her purse. According to the police report, an off-duty officer arrested Bailey last Thursday morning. Police searched Bailey's purse and found more than $400 worth of stolen CVS products along with drug paraphernalia related to cocaine use and burglar tools. Bailey is wanted in Teaneck and West Orange. Her bail is set at $1,500.
- A West Orange High School student was charged on juvenile complaint for possession of marijuana last week, police said. The 16-year-old student was found with two half burnt cigars containing the drug after a teacher contacted the security guard due to the smell of marijuana. The security guard turned the student over to the police where he was processed and later released to his mother.
