Police Blotter: Burglaries to Homes, Cars

Police said four large batteries used for Sump Pump back up were allegedly stolen from a driveway on Ash Avenue last Wednesday morning. Two of the batteries are valued at $72 and the other two are valued at $50.
A car was allegedly stolen from High Street in West Orange over the weekend, police said. The black 1996 Mazda was taken between Oct. 7 and Oct. 9 while it was parked, according to the police report.
Police said a 2011 Audi Q7 was apparently broken into Sunday morning after the driver's rear window was smashed. The car was parked in a driveway on Linden Avenue in West Orange, police said. They said the broken window caused damage to the body of the car. It is not known what was used to break the window. According to the police report, a pair of women's boots valued at $130 was taken.
A $1,000 handbag was allegedly taken from a 2009 BMW SUV this weekend after the suspect(s) smashed the driver's rear window, police said. The incident occurred sometime between Saturday night into Sunday morning, according to the police report.
Police said a $350 camera was allegedly stolen from a parked vehicle on Koewing Place in West Orange. The front driver's door lock of a 2008 Lexus ES 350 was punched out, police said. The burglary happened sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
An unlocked 2003 Honda Accord was broken into on Beaumont Terrace in West Orange, police said. They said a $30 radar detector was taken from the vehicle sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
