An official of the West Orange Energy Commission recently set up an exhibit at the West Orange Public Library detailing the mysteries of the Mayan calendar.

The reality of the calendar, explains the exhibit materials, is more complicated and interesting.

Mike Brick, the chair of the commission, said in an email to Patch, “Being conscious of energy is our life,” Brick’s email said. “So there is lots to know and use from this amazing calendar.”

The exhibit is on display at the entrance and near the circulation desk of the West Orange Public Library.
