Patch Asks: Where in the Oranges Is It?
A stylish building on a busy street...but where?
Patch's alert readers have (almost) never been stumped. This building, a neo-classical gem, is located on a busy street. Tell us where it is, what it is and, for extra credit, what this building was built to be.
Good luck!

I'll take the extra credit.

Doesn't it say 1923 at the top of the building?

Maybe they started building in 1917 and finished in 1923.

This is a fun idea—just like the one I had in 2002 for my long-running "Where in Montclair?" photo-guessing-game column in The Montclair Times!

Yes, I enjoyed the same sort of column in the Paterson newspaper when I was growing up, and I've seen similar going back a century. I think it's remarkable to see how much we collectively know about our surroundings.

Thank you very much! I'm wowed by how observant you all are -- and how knowledgeable. I have a longer article in process about the bank's history. (Hint: it was build just 6 years before the 1929 crash.)

This beautiful building which I see every morning going to work is a bank on Scotland Road facing Freeman Street in Orange, NJ.
