Party like it's 4Sixty6

Restaurant/club offers Manhattan-style entertainment

Fabolous parties here. No big deal. So does Kool and the Gang and Whoopi Goldberg.

4Sixty6 isn't just a township hot spot. It's the place to find Manhattan in the 'burbs. With more than 65 employees, the largest disco ball in the U.S. — the third largest in the world — LED walls, hydraulic dance floors and more than 60 flat screen, high-definition televisions, this 20,000 square foot, 1,500 capacity oasis offers food, drinks and, of course, one hell of a party.

Pouring $3 million into lighting alone, owner Ralph Cestone said his Prospect Avenue restaurant/club is "off the hook." And for West Orange, there's no denying that statement.

"We have three full-size kitchens, a huge patio ... the list goes on," he said. "We have one of the top 100 chefs in the world working here and one of the best Sushi chefs, too."

4Sixty6 has a lot to offer not just West Orange, but northern New Jersey.

Since its opening Dec. 30, 2009, it continues to offer more niche choices for people. It has a sushi bar at the top floor, along with a piano bar that features Alicia Keys' piano and a chandelier made from 360 pieces of individually carved glass.

The second floor also has cabanas for VIPs and a second dance floor that can be used for events.

On the ground level, there is a rotating steak house restaurant that will open in two weeks, a fully equipped bar, a large dance floor and a lounge with a rotating fire place.

Outside, there is a 5,000 square foot patio for party-goers.

Cestone said West Orange became the ideal location for his venue because of the township's closeness to transportation.

"The close proximity to highways, as well as buses and trains, the great community of West Orange and other surrounding towns/counties and, finally, only a short 20-minute drive from New York, all led to the decision to open our premier venue," he said. "There's no where else like it in the Northeast."

The food menu is reasonably priced and ranges from $6 appetizers to more expensive steaks, once the restaurant is open. "It's not what you're going to get at TGI Fridays," said Cestone.

Drink menu is the same, with specials starting at $6 during happy hour and more expensive mixed drinks priced from $8 to $15.

"We won't price gouge at all," said Cestone. "We want everyone to be treated like a customer should be treated — and we want to be economical."

Pavel Mishin, 27, of Woodbridge, who attended one of the restaurant/club's happy hours, said 4Sixty6 is a place he'd bring friends.

"It's not a bad place," he said. "It reminds me a little bit of New York."

Paul Gaglioti, 58, of North Caldwell, who also owns Dieci Lifestyle Spa in Livingston, said his friends brought him out to 4Sixty6.

"I've come here a couple times," he said. "I come here to hang out, have a drink and just relax."

The restaurant/club also offers different event nights, such as Latin night on Thursdays, R&B on Fridays and Top 40 on Saturdays. Cestone said on Sundays, the club will offer an alternative night for the gay and lesbian community.

Maria Cucciniello, a Montclair-based public relations director for The Hip Event, which represents 4Sixty6, said a fall/winter club kickoff party is scheduled for Sept. 22-25 and will feature celebrity DJs and guests. It is open to the general public.

4Sixty6 is located at 466 Prospect Ave. It has a dress code of sharp-casual, dressed to impress.
