Mother Demands Officer Firings for Facebook Comments
NJ.com: Jean Lecky assured by West Orange Council President Victor Cirilo township would make an example of police behavior.
The president of the West Orange Township Council Tuesday night assured the mother of a slain 22-year-old West Orange man "an example would be set" after two West Orange police officers allegedly discussed the death on Facebook, a violation of township social media policy.
Council President Victor Cirilo told Raymar Lecky's mother Jean, "I am very confident we will deal with it in the right way," after Lecky told council members to deal seriously with the Facebook comments allegedly made by West Orange Sgt. William Mango and Officer Karen Roach and demanded the officers be fired, according to a NJ.com report.
Both officers' behavior remains under internal affairs investigation after comments posted on Facebook questioned whether Lecky had been caught up in drug violence and was a member of a gang.
Raymar Lecky was shot and killed on New Year’s Eve following an argument over a woman with his friend Dwayne Edwards, 21, in Newark.

Maybe the mother should have been worried about being a mother before her son was shot and killed. Again which these officers had nothing to do with his death. She should have been there the other times he was arrested. It is a shame she lost her son but it just a little to late now to start caring!!!!!!

Wow that was mean @SteveDeRosa. Unless you know the family how can you lay the blame at the mother's feet? Why is the mother always to blame. This woman is grieving, imagine how she feels reading your comments? Would you say something this cruel to her face? And if so, should I question how your mother raised you?

Is it to late to mock other victims of murder? Does a persons back round make any difference when that person is murdered? Murder is murder and as police officers instead of mocking murder victims maybe they should go back to cop school.

Police officers have to follow rules also and if they don't they should be held accountable, this has nothing to do with the character of the boy or his mother

Correction my brother had no arguement over this girl she was trash. Steve Freida you couldn't have a better mother than mine and please say that to our face you are useless and so was your comment.I pray for someone like you. My brother took this boy in and fed him. my brother has never been in a gang not has he ever owned a gun he was a peacemakers. Yes had a record anyone can get a record does not mean he was guilty . Are we still waiting for an example to be set and for this to be dealt with in the right way? Were the officers disciplined? Were they on duty at the time? Are we going to get answers or the usual sweeping of this under the rug as with other things that happened in town.
