Library Hours Scheduled to Change

The library is still offering many events

 

Starting May 28, the West Orange library hours are set to change, opening an hour later during the week but still have a lot of upcoming events for adults, seniors, teens and children. 

The new hours are as follows:

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 10 a.m.- 9 p.m.

Tuesday and Friday: 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.

For adults, there will be an employment workshop hosted by a certified employment coach, Lisa Chenofsky-Singer, on how to prepare for the job market at  7 p.m. on May 3. Also, at 1:30 p.m. on May 7 there will be a group discussion on the book Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand, led my Mary-Jean Gurzenda, reference department manager.

For seniors, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on May 4, the library hosts a senior social to play Wii sports together. 

For teens there is a Teen Advisory Group Meeting at 7:30 p.m. on May 2, to help plan programs for teens.

For children, the middle school has an art showcase from 6:30-8:30 p.m on May 2. The library also has a Cinco de Mayo Party at 4:30 p.m. on May 4 and a free comic day on Saturday.

I was disappointed to hear that the Library Board thought it better to stay open on Sundays and lay off three part time employees and one full time employee, rather than close on Sunday, which would have saved one, possibly two of those jobs.
