An 11-year-old girl told her mother and police she was followed home after getting off of her school bus by two men in a dirty white truck.
 
West Orange Police confirmed the girl reported that the men in the truck followed her after she exited the bus in the Redwood School neighborhood, until she was able to run inside her family's garage.

The girl's mother, Ann Cupo, said her daughter was walking two blocks from the bus stop to her house last Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. when she noticed the truck pacing behind her.

"I was so angry … how dare they," Cupo told Patch. She said the five-minute walk home is the only time her daughter is usually left alone, "I figured it's dismissal time, it's so busy, everybody in the neighborhood is around and it's only two blocks she has to walk."

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Anthony Cavanna sent a letter home to district parents warning them of the incident. He wrote,

"It has been brought to our attention that a vehicle was reported as potentially following a youth in West Orange. We contacted the West Orange Police Department and were told they are investigating the incident.

The safety of our students is always our most important concern."

The girl was not harmed and told her mother about the incident immediately after it occurred. Cupo said she went out looking for the truck the same day but did not find it.
 
The student said the white pickup truck was covered in black mesh on the back with dirty with grass clippings.

She also told police she saw two men in their 40s inside the truck. She described the passenger as a white man, with rosy cheeks and a reddish nose wearing a camouflage winter hat. She said the driver was a white man with brown hair.
