Firehouse Rose Seeks a Home

This gorgeous calico, along with many other adorable adoptables, is available

Happy 2013 from the West Orange Animal Welfare League and especially, Firehouse Rose

Not too long ago,  a very friendly cat started hanging around the local firehouse. The firefighters were sure she belonged to someone in the neighborhood, but she decided that the firehouse was her new home. Considering the speed of the fire trucks, this was not a very safe place for a cat, so one of the firefighters kindly scooped her up and brought her to the shelter to be safe. On his way out the door he said, “call her Rose” so we did.

Everyone agreed that this cat looks a little too well fed to be a typical stray, but strangely, no one has come looking for her. Now she’s ready for a new home, one that will keep her inside, safe and sound.

Our Firehouse Rose is the sweetest cat you could imagine. She loves people and attention, and appears to be the perfect lap cat. Could you be the one to make her new year happy?

To visit Firehouse Rose or any of the adoptable animals at the West Orange Animal Welfare League, come to our next adoption day, Saturday, January 5th.

Adoption days are from 11am-3pm at the Alex Caprio Animal Control Facility at 311 Watchung Avenue in West Orange (behind the Thomas Edison National Historical Park). You can also visit the facility between 4:30-5:30 on Monday-Friday. Would love to adopt & give a stray cat & dog a good home, if it was free!

Sorry M, but the practice of giving 'Free' animals is long gone due to abuse - I mean how much value do you place on anything you got for free?. If you are serious about adoption, I would suggest volunteering or getting to know the folks in your local shelter and see where your journey for a friend takes you! Good luck!

People came and people went during Saturday's adoption day. Firehouse Rose saw many friendly faces and had a great day with lots of attention, but she still needs a home. Perhaps someone will stop at the animal shelter during the week, fall in love and take her home. The shelter is located at 311 Watchung Avenue in West Orange, and open Monday through Friday 4:30-5:30PM (except holidays).
