Essex Green Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint

[Updated] West Orange police are investigating an armed robbery at Essex Green Sunoco Monday night.

A gas station near Essex Green Shopping Center was robbed at gunpoint Monday night, West Orange police said.

The gas station at 480 Prospect Ave., which Google Maps lists as the Essex Green Sunoco, was robbed at 9:15 p.m. Monday, Lt. Timothy Brennan said.

The alleged armed robber took $40 in cash from the gas station attendant and took off on foot, Brennan said.

No further details were immediately available.

According to reports released by police, this is the ninth armed robbery in West Orange this year.
