Edison Redevelopment Project Goes Before Planning Board, Recreation Events Upcoming This Week

Monday 

• The West Orange Township offices and the West Orange Public Library will be closed today. Garbage and recycling collection will also be canceled due to Labor Day. 

The Ginny Duenkel Pool will be open for its final day of the season. It's hours on Monday will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

 

Wednesday 

• The senior citizen picnic and pool party will be held between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Ginny Duenkel Pool

• The Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. at town hall, 66 Main St. 

• The Planning Board will meet at 8 p.m. at town hall, 66 Main St.

Prism Green Urban Renewal Associates IV LLC, a subsidiary of the redeveloper, is on the board's agenda and will seek approval by the board to make changes to the original downtown project

The redeveloper has previously sought to get approval of the changes from the board in July and August.

Thursday 

• The Planning Board will hold a special meeting at 8 p.m. in town hall, 66 Main St. The agenda can be found here. 

 

Friday 

• The weekly farmers market will be set up from noon to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of town hall, 66 Main St. 

• The Essex County SummerMusic Concert featuring the Garden State Concert Band will be at 7:30 p.m. at Eagle Rock Reservation

 

Saturday

• The Recreation Department will host Old Timer's Day at Colgate Park starting at noon.

The event will honor individuals who spent their youth at the historic park. An award ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and an exhibition baseball game will start at 2 p.m.
