Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that encourages children to celebrate reading. This year, it will be held on Friday, March 1, the day before the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.
Over at The Able Baker in Maplewood, baker Maddie Weltchek was busy decorating whimsical, striped Cat in the Hat cookies in preparation for Friday.
