More than 300 boxes of comic books will be on sale, from Archie to Vertigo, including books for children and adults. Also on sale will be graphic novels, trading cards and action figures.

Scheduled to appear are Steve Mannion, creator and artist of “Fearless Dawn,” as well as Paul Castiglia, writer and editor of “Archie,” “DC,” “Dark Horse” and “Droop Do.”

Tom Hall, writer and co-creator of the award-winning “R-13” and “King” and David Ryan, writer and artist of “War of the Independents,” are scheduled to appear as well.

At the “Get Into Comics” lecture series, Arlen Schumer will speak on “My Comic Book Life” from 11 a.m. to noon. From thumbnail sketches to finished artwork, he will discuss how he turned a childhood love of comic books into an adult livelihood as a comic book historian and illustrator for more than 25 years.

From 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., Rick Parker will talk on “How to Create a Comic Book Character,” which will include hands-on experience. Participants do not need to be a professional artist.

The last of the lecture series, “Why Superheros Matter: Modern Mythology from Comics to Films” with Hannah Means-Shannon, will explore how superheroes intrigue and inspire us because of their enduring universal qualities drawn from ancient traditions.

This lecture will delve into three hero types present in Greek, Irish and Norse Mythology and explore the ways in which they have come to influence and energize superheros in various comics and films including Iron Man, Thor and Captain America.
