Auto Shop Burglarized for a Second Time
This marks the third burglary of a Franklin Avenue business in the last week.
A business on Franklin Avenue was burglarized for a second time in less than a week early Wednesday morning, according to police.
Sebastian Auto, at 62 Franklin Ave., was burglarized at 2:58 a.m. on Wednesday when someone entered the business through a rear window. An alarm at the auto shop was set off.
Nothing was found to be missing from the auto shop.
Another burglary was reported at the auto shop last week. The alarm was triggered on Friday, but police did not initially respond because the owner believed it was a false alarm.
When the shop was opened on Friday morning, however, keys and a car were found to be missing.
Someone entered through the same rear window on Friday and stole 23 sets of keys. Many of the keys were later found on the lawn of the shop. A car was also stolen, and was later found abandoned on Allan Street due to transmission problems.
Police do have a description of a suspect from Friday's burglary.
Investigation is still on going in both burglaries, according to West Orange Police Capt. John Buoye. He also said it is too soon to determine whether the two burglaries are related.

Hey, not to help you out, bad guys, but stealing cars from a repair shop is SORT OF STUPID. They're there because SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THEM.
Just saying.

I wonder what prompted the owner to think the first alarm last week was a false alarm. I guess he learned his lesson too!

Ken I agree. You have to be an idiot to steal a car from a repair shop! But what is going on in our town?! Every other day there's a burglary at a business or house. There was a homicide at Misty's and the Exxon on the corner of Mt. Pleasant and PVW was robbed at gun point a few weeks ago. We need to catch these people fast!
