Seriously? You won't bring your kids here?? First of all, this happened in Neptune. Furthermore, as crime goes, The West Orange Police are doing an outstanding job of limiting (it can NOT be eliminated) its effects on our residents. I'm no big fan of the Police, as a whole in this country, but these men and women, who are risking their lives daily, without a contract mind you, are to be commended for the job they're doing to protect us without interrupting our lives with undue aggravation. We are more fortunate than we give credit for being.

Grant it happened in Neptune but look at all the crap that happens in W.O.!!!! You can't tell me you don't avoid certain sections of W.O. due to the high crime rate! SMH! Open your eyes!!!

Dear readers, this young man is my nephew and unlike most people who defend ignorance and try to claim that their family is being railroaded or falsely accused of a crime, I am not that type of person. This young man was a few months away from completing college which my sister took on the financial responsibility for and is now a complete loss. Both Wise and his older brother are both in jail but were raised in a well rounded, loving, compassionate and intelligent family that always made sure we educated them about the hazards of street life and associating with ignorant, destructive, socio-pathic low lives, however they seem to think like many in this entitlement generation that the grass is greener in the junk yard pits of hell and that instant gratification is the end to all means. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my nephew and want the best for him but we are all individuals who make choices that we must live with. So I'm not going to say "Free Wise" like his low life buddies are saying on Facebook I'm going to say keep his ass until he serves every second that a jury of his peers sees fit for his crimes, if convicted. It is high time that we as a society start to take responsibility for our own and hold them and or ourselves accountable. Signed, Weshon Hornsby

Mr. Hornsby, while I commend you on your open and frank viewpoint on this, I do take issue with your position of: " It is high time that we as a society start to take responsibility for our own and hold them and or ourselves accountable." So because your family failed at instilling good values the rest of society must now be burdened with the cost to incarcerate your nephew and pay for his room and board and other related costs thorughout the term of whatever sentence he receives. It doesn't seem fair that the good folks of NJ have to pay for your family's failures does it? Your sister may have lost whatever costs she invested in a college education so far for Wise, now the rest of society must pay for his free ride.

Weshon thank you.
I hope the shame that Wise has brought upon you and your family will deter further criminals from your family.
I do hope you and family are embarrassed as you should be.
